Summary

The developer does not collect, sell or share your personal data through the app. No sign-up is required, and there are no ads, analytics or trackers.

Data on your device

Your search history, study lists, review history, notes, photos and voice clips are stored on your device.

iCloud

With Pro and iCloud sync enabled, the app syncs your settings, lists, review history and notes to your private iCloud database using Apple’s CloudKit. The daily free scan count is also stored in iCloud key-value storage when you are signed in, including without Pro. The developer cannot access this data. Apple’s privacy policy applies to iCloud.

Camera and microphone

The camera is used to scan Japanese text and add photo notes. The microphone is used to record voice clips for your notes. Text recognition runs on your device. Photos and recordings saved in readings or notes are stored on your device, and notes sync to iCloud when you enable that feature.
